A partnership between Marshall High School, Murray County Central, Tracy Area High School and the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce received a $1,000 LYFT Pathways Innovation award in which 18 students from the Lyon/Murray County Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program, would commit to attending monthly Young Professionals Meetings. The Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the monthly Young Professionals Meetings, which is a group of individuals interested in becoming leaders in the Marshall community.
Marshall Public Schools, Murray County Central Schools and Tracy Area Schools are all part of the Lyon/Murray County Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program, which consists of 18 students from the three districts. Marshall Public Schools also has a Careers Internship Course. The schools would commit to sending 7-8 students from each of these groups each month to the Young Professionals Meeting.
The students would gain networking opportunities in the Marshall area and learn valuable skills to take into their future careers. At the meetings, they will have the opportunity to network with community leaders, build community awareness, gain professional contacts, along with many other things. The meetings would also help them to grow professionally and personally in the hopes that they one day will make the Marshall area their home.
