A partnership between the Wabasso High School and Kibble Equipment has received a $10,239 LYFT Pathways Innovation award to develop and implement a Diesel Mechanics class for their seniors. Seniors attending Wabasso High School that are interested in diesel mechanics as a career pathway will have the opportunity to be exposed to the occupation and career on-site at Kibble Equipment in Wabasso, MN.
Through this innovative program, students learn hands-on in the shop during the school day alongside experienced Kibble Equipment diesel mechanics and leadership staff. The curriculum focuses on shop safety, machine repair, and diesel mechanics fundamentals, giving students a strong foundation in the industry while building practical skills and career readiness.
Kibble Equipment has committed to sponsoring students who successfully complete the course to earn the credentials needed to work as a diesel mechanic. This direct connection between classroom learning and career opportunities creates a clear and supported pathway into the workforce.
