The Prairie Wood Environmental Learning Center, Lac qui Parle Valley High School, WWG High School, YME High School, Willmar High School and FOCUS Transition Program, Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Service, SW MN Private Industry Council and a wide range of “green” businesses received a LYFT Pathways grant in the amount of $25,300 to provide Green Career Workshops for high school students.
“Eco-Solutions” programming rotations will provide hands-on learning in areas such as climate change, waste management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, water quality and more. Funds will be used for staff capacity for offering workshops/rotations and to assist schools with the costs to provide these student opportunities by paying a portion of the school participation fees for the 2021-2022 school year. YES! and their partners will offer at least 3 career workshops to over 300 students across the region and reach numerous additional students outside of the YES! team-based approach through “Eco Solutions” project-based learning.
During the 2021-22 school year, 32 students took this course.
