A partnership between Renville County West and Yellow Medicine East Schools, Minnesota West Community and Technical College, SW MN Private Industry Council, Fagen, Inc., K & M Manufacturing, SpecSys, Inc., Creative Designs, and the SW MN Sugar Beet Cooperative have received a $49,750 LYFT Career Pathways award to develop a mobile manufacturing program that will be shared between the two high schools.

Up to 150 students will be served through this new partnership during the 2018-19 school year. The schools will purchase and share a wide range of industry-based manufacturing equipment. Students will be transported between the two schools to take advantage of the expertise of several high school instructors. The industry partners have agreed to provide training to teachers and students on the new equipment, provide matching funds for additional equipment, and host students for industry tours and job shadowing. An additional goal for the partnership is to develop a State-approved apprenticeship program in manufacturing.

During the 2018-19 school year, 190 students took part in this program.

During the 2019-20 school year, 190 students took part in this program.

During the 2020-21 school year, eight students took part in this program.

During the 2021-22 school year, 12 students took part in this program.
