Work Based Learning Internships - LqPV and Dawson-Boyd Schools

The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council (PIC) received $50,000 in LYFT Pathways Lac qui Parle Valley School District (LQPV), in partnership with Dawson-Boyd High School and numerous area businesses, received $5,500 in LYFT Pathways funding to provide hands-on learning opportunities to students in their field of interest and teach them important job skills such as resume building, professionalism, and employability.

Students will learn first-hand the critical technical and workplace skills that employers demand and help them solidify their desired career path prior the conclusion of high school. This exposure will hopefully lead them to pursue degrees in these fields and return to be employed locally or start businesses of their own.

During the 2020-21 school year, eight students took this course.

During the 2021-22 school year, five students took this course.
