The Minnesota River Valley CTE Collaborative and it five school partners (Lakeview, Montevideo, Renville County West, Yellow Medicine East, and MACCRAY) received $32,750 in LYFT Pathways funding to formalize the Collaborative and to expand the number of shared-CTE courses from its initial Intro to Medical Careers course to include up to 12 shared-CTE courses.
The added courses include: Introduction to Manufacturing and Engineering, Electrical Controls, Information Technology Exploration, Introduction to Residential Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC, Food and Nutrition, Child Development, Nursing Assistant, Networking Basics, Introduction to Education, Industrial Construction Methods, Tiny House/Fish House Construction, and Introduction to Traditional and Renewable Energy.
The Collaborative offers the courses through a hybrid delivery format with students from the participating schools meeting several days a week in person and the remaining days on-line in their home school or participating in work-based learning experiences at local businesses. Many of the classes are offered for college credit through Minnesota West Community and Technical College.
