Wabasso, Red Rock Central, Springfield and Redwood Valley School Districts; along with Minnesota West Community and Technical College and Southwest Minnesota State University were awarded $30,988 in LYFT Pathway funding to develop an Introduction to Education course that will serve up to 15 students in the first year.

The course will be delivered through hybrid instruction that combines online learning, multi-district full day seminars and classroom practicum experiences for students interested in education/early childhood development. The model will have students in their home district for the online instruction and all class participants will meet once per month for a full day seminar at a rotating site. Students will participate in on-campus visits for exposure to college campuses, hear directly from education professors and educational specialists. This innovative hybrid course will provide students with the opportunity to take a 3-credit college class that serves as a foundational education/early childhood learning programs.

During the 2019-20 school year, 14 students took this course.

During the 2020-21 school year, three students took this course.

During the 2021-22 school year, two students took this course.
