The partnership between Dawson-Boyd and Lac qui Parle Valley high schools, the Minnesota River Valley Education District, and other education agency partners was awarded a $7,250 LYFT Pathways grant to develop and implement an Introduction to Education course for high school students.
The purpose of the project is to introduce students to the broad field of education, as a way to develop future teachers and address the severe teacher shortage. Students will be actively involved with mentor teachers in classrooms that span a wide range of grade levels and disciplines.
During the 2019-20 School year, eight students took this course,
