The partnership between Renville County Hospital, BOLD Schools, Buffalo Lake-Hector Schools, and Minnesota West Community and Technical College were awarded $43,296 in funding for the Emerging Leaders in Health project.

This project will provide students from the two school districts several courses and certification opportunities including, Introduction to Healthcare Careers, Medical Terminology, Community Health Worker Certification or Pharmacy Technician. Minnesota West will be providing the instructor and all enrolled students will receive college credit for the courses. Each school will designate an onsite supervisor to provide support to students on days when students are in the home school district completing on-line assignments or completing community-based projects.

During the 2019-20 school year, ten students participated in this program.
