A partnership consisting of Glencoe-Silver Lake High School, Sibley East Jr./Sr. High School, Ridgewater College, and a variety of technology and communication companies received $37,600 in LYFT Pathway funding to initiate a Junior High coding class based on the nationally recognized Code.org curriculum.

This highly interactive class will be offered daily to students at GSL and Sibley East through face to face and ITV instruction. Interaction between students from partnering schools will include field investigations/business tours and outreach classes through each schools community education programs. The course is directed toward 7th and 8th grade but may be expanded to grades 9 and 10 as space allows.

During 2020-21, 55 students took this course.

During 2021-22, 105 students took this course.
