A partnership between Eden Valley-Watkins Schools, Paynesville Area Schools, ACGC Schools, Ridgewater College, Paynesville CentraCare, Hilltop Health Care, Paynesville Community Foundation, and the Paynesville Vocational and Career Training Committee was awarded an $18,825 LYFT Pathways grant to develop a shared CNA course that will serve up to 15 students beginning in January of 2019.
Funds will be used to purchase medical equipment, cover transportation costs, and pay for a portion of first year instructional costs. Ridgewater College will provide the instructor for the course.
The CNA course requirements are established by the State of Minnesota. The CNA clinicals will be held at CentraCare and Hilltop Care Center once the lecture and lab portions of the training are completed. Students will earn three college credits for successfully completing the course and can receive their CNA certification upon passing the certification exam.
In the Spring of 2019, 18 students took this course.
During the 2020-21 school year, 23 students took this course.
During the 2021-22 school year, 59 students took this course.
