Automotive Technology - Windom, HLO and SWWC

A partnership between Windom and Heron Lake-Okabena School Districts, SWWC's ALC - Windom, and Higley Ford were awarded $23,430 for a joint automotive technology program that would be shared between the three schools.

Up to 36 students will be served the first year. Higley Ford will provide job shadowing and work experience opportunities for students, as well as access to equipment and tools at wholesale pricing. The partnership will cover the costs of the curriculum and staff salary, and LYFT funds will be used to cover the cost of specialized equipment for two garage bays.

During the 2020-21 school year, 55 students took part in this program.

During the 2021-22 school year, 42 students took part in this program.
