Automotive Brakes & Steering Systems - Marshall, RCW and MRVCTEC

Marshall and Renville County West High Schools, Minnesota River Valley CTE Collaborative schools (Lakeview, MACCRAY, Montevideo, and Yellow Medicine East), SW MN Private Industry Council, Minnesota West College, Lockwood Motors, Kruse Motors, and the Minnesota Transportation Center of Excellence received a $20,000 grant to purchased shared training equipment and a trailer to start an automotive technician program.

Students from the partnering high schools will learn from industry professionals and take site tours to increase their awareness of career opportunities in the automotive industry. Schools will collaborate on lessons, activities, and the use of the simulator equipment. They will also plan virtual lessons based on the structure of the curriculum. This program will help students become industry-ready by providing the opportunity for various automotive certifications.

During the 2021-22 school year, 28 students took this course.
