At LYFT Career Pathways, we believe that students in southwest and west central Minnesota deserve opportunities to explore their futures in meaningful, hands-on ways. That’s why we’re excited to highlight an incredible resource available to schools and communities: the Career Exploration Kits from the SWWC Service Cooperative.

These career exploration kits are designed to help students gain practical, hands-on experience in more than 40 different career fields, ranging from welding, agriculture, and health care to accounting, childcare, and the trades. Each kit contains the tools, materials, and activities needed to give students a taste of real-world tasks. It’s about turning curiosity into confidence and helping students envision where their skills and interests could take them.

Fueling Student Futures—One Kit at a Time

Launch Your Future Today (LYFT) exists to rebuild and strengthen career and technical education (CTE) in our region. We know that exposure to CTE pathways early on leads to stronger career awareness, better engagement, and more informed decisions after high school. These career exploration kits make that exposure possible in schools of all sizes, without requiring expensive equipment or specialized labs.

Whether used in a classroom, at a career fair, or in a community workshop, the kits offer flexible, no-cost career-connected learning. Educators and community partners can check out kits for two weeks at a time, free of charge. They’re a simple but powerful tool to help students explore local career opportunities—and begin building skills that align with our region’s workforce needs.
